Ferrero has always encouraged a healthy lifestyle, especially for young people, based on physical activity and the responsible use of its products. This commitment is also demonstrated by communicating with parents, and by making available to them products in portion sizes that allow for balanced consumption. The dialogue with parents is based on our recognition of the fundamental role they play in the family lifestyle.

Ferrero products are aimed at different consumption moments during the day. The most recent nutritional studies indicate that consumption outside main meal times has a positive dietary role. Ferrero products are ideal for these consumption occasions, thanks to their containing important elements such as the calcium present in the milk, and other micronutrients in balanced formulations, with low glycaemic indices.

Obesity levels in Australia and New Zealand are a cause of concern, especially regarding children. Ferrero has always believed in the crucial role played by parents in educating their children to a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Although the existence of a direct link between advertising and children’s eating habits has not been proven, Ferrero agrees that it is preferable to avoid directing advertising to children when they are most likely exposed to commercial communications without parental supervision.

In line with the above consideration, the advertising of Ferrero products fulfilling specific nutrition criteria, consistent with established scientific evidence and/or applicable national and international dietary guidelines will also reference or be in the context of promoting healthy dietary choices and/or physical activity.

A balanced eating pattern is synonymous with variety, as all foods have attributes of their own. In accordance with our responsible stance in relation to the consumption of our products, Ferrero recommends that Nutella can be included as part of a balanced eating pattern, when accompanying high fibre or wholegrain bread with a controlled portion size and other core foods such as reduced fat dairy products and fruit.
